NeuroStory Collective

Why Neuro - Story - Collective?

NEURO refers to all neurodiversity (we all have different brains), neurology (when our minds trip us up), neuroscience (how we're wired), neuroplaticity (our ability to always adapt and change) and not least neurodivergence (natural, evolutionary-based variation of our minds).

STORY is for our individual and unique stories, narratives, beliefs, hopes, dreams, wishes, norms, traditions, attitudes, internalised ableism/stigma/shame, stories that create our thoughts, feelings and behaviours and for the stories that unite and divide us.

Finally, COLLECTIVE means shared learning, a community of likeminded, what makes us connect as a whole and group, and the mutual and unifying aspects of our lived experiences as neurodivergent people, living in a neuroconformist world.

NeuroStory Collective is a place of shared and collected stories by and for those who don't fit the traditional mould of society, those who feel like outsiders, those who've struggled to fit in, or have hit a wall they can't quite see how to climb, or those who love that they're not normative but who'd still like to know more or develop tools to reach their full potential and thrive.

Note that there's no 'the' in this name, as NeuroStory Collective isn't the ultimate collective of the lived experiences of people (far from it!) and I'm no expert (again, far from it!).
Not least because how could I ever be an expert in your life, your lived experiences, your thoughts and feelings, hopes, dreams, needs, and your story?
Likewise, it'd be impossible for me to ever become an expert in the ever-changing, ever-growing field of the human mind.

So, no, this isn't a 'the' collective of neurostories, but just a small corner of collected stories from the work I have been doing over the past 10+ years.

I'm here to be a fellow human and relatable rather than an authority or specialist.

Blog: Neurostories

You'll find two (English) blog sections on this website. There'll be the general blog called Thinking About Thinking that'll cover the themes of living, from love to self-development to mental health struggles to joy, and what it means to be human, how to cope in difficult times, how to thrive and much, much more.

The second blog section below is dedicated to neurodivergence, especially life as a late-identified, high-masking neurodivergent adult.
